Certain records in Microsoft Dataverse must be published or activated before they can be used.
When such records are created through integration from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, this activation step is still required. The connector provides a configuration that allows records to be automatically activated as part of the integration process.
Enabling Activation for an Entity
To configure an entity that requires activation:
- Navigate to Integration Foundation Setup
- Open the Dataverse Entities List
- Select the required entity
- Enable the Requires Activation field

Configuring Record Activation
Once activation is enabled, define how records should be activated:
- Navigate to Integration Foundation Setup
- Open the Dataverse Entities List
- Select the entity
- Click Record Activation Setup

Define Activation Rules
For each record state (e.g. Active or Inactive), configure the following:
- Record State
- Example: Active or Inactive
- Status Field
- Select the Dataverse field representing the status
- Status Value
- Define the value to be set in the status field
- State Field
- Select the Dataverse field representing the state
- State Value
- Define the value to be set in the state field
