The two licensing routes

Introduction

ARVO Studio is licensed in one of two ways, and both end at the same place: an environment entitlement activated against one Business Central environment. This article brings the two routes, activation and the 90-day reassignment rule together in one summary, and points to the Start here articles where each is covered in full.

Partner Edition

The partner signs a License Order Form that references the Bluefort Intelligence EULA and states the base subscription, the number of environments and the term. Bluefort invoices annually in advance. The assigned Bluefort contact provisions the licence and binds each environment entitlement to the named end customer’s tenant and environment. If another customer is added during the term, the additional entitlement runs to the same renewal date as the base subscription.

Partner Edition is for the partner’s own delivery use. ARVO Studio is not resold and no reseller margin applies.

Direct subscription

The customer installs ARVO Studio free from AppSource, starts the purchase from inside the product, completes the hosted checkout and accepts the Bluefort Intelligence EULA in-app. The licence then activates against the same tenant and environment from which the purchase was started, and the acceptance record stores the EULA version, timestamp, user and tenant. Direct subscriptions are billed monthly by card.

Installing from AppSource costs nothing and does not create a paid subscription on either route. Licensing is a separate activation step.

Activation

Activation ties one environment entitlement to one Business Central environment and one Microsoft Entra tenant: one entitlement, one environment, one end customer. On Partner Edition the entitlement is provisioned against the named customer environment and tenant, and the consultant completes activation in ARVO Studio Setup with the issued access key. On a direct subscription, activation completes automatically at the end of the in-product purchase, against the environment the purchase was started from.

The 90-day reassignment rule

An environment entitlement can move to another environment or tenant only after 90 days have passed since its most recent activation. Deactivating does not immediately free the licence: if you deactivate before the 90-day period has ended, the entitlement remains consumed until 90 days from the most recent activation. Once that point is reached, a deactivated entitlement can be reassigned.

Important: the 90-day clock runs from the most recent activation, not from the date of deactivation. Deactivating early does not release the entitlement early.
