Bluefort TAPP Payment Automation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance / FSCM – Capturing Payments – Stripe

Once a customer payment method for Stripe is selected on the customer and Stripe is enabled for this customer, then all sales orders, free text invoices and project invoices related to this customer are automatically tagged for Stripe payments. This is shown on the header level of the document, as per screenshots below.

Note: If the user wishes to disable Stripe payments for this specific document then the Enable Stripe payments field shown in the screenshots below can be manually disabled.

If the Enable Stripe payments flag is set to true, once the respective document is processed for invoicing a stripe payment intent is created and automatically captured on the card linked to the payment method configured on the customer card. This also creates an action (per document line) and a record in the Stripe payment intents table (per payment). This latter record shows the status of the payment.

Note: Just like any Stripe data created via TAPP, custom metadata fields are added to payment intents. For Payment Intent the organization id and the invoice id are recorded as metadata which makes it possible to settle the invoice when processing the payout.

Note: A successful payment means that Stripe managed to successfully withdraw the money from the customer’s bank account. The funds will reach the merchant’s bank account when Stripe issues a payout. Payout settings can be configured directly from within the Stripe portal.
